Russian deputy PM Belousov says world enters technological race
MOSCOW, Nov 7 (PRIME) -- The world has entered a technological race, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov said on November 5.
“The world is engaged in a technological race, and it is not the technological race itself that matters, but the fact that the largest countries of the world, mainly the U.S., try to turn technologies into a factor of economic domination,” Belousov said.
The race evolves in three to four core spheres, the first of which is digitalization with artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.
“The second is space. It is still an undervalued sphere, but we will see the situation change in the coming two to three years,” he said.
“Why? Because space means deployment of low-orbit space constellations…It means a completely new system of connection. It includes the Internet of things, transport control … And the second is remote sensing of the Earth online when you can control processes – production, transport, construction, and the like online.”
He added that the technological race is well under way in medicine and energy and partly in the sphere of drones.
